We booked this hotel on line a couple of days before we turned up and selected the jacuzzi room. The lovely lady on reception said "you will love this room" and she was right! It was huge, but cosy with a large fire in the corner and a fabulous jacuzzi which just made it perfect. Outside on the balcony there were squirrels and chipmunks, birds and an unidentified furry animal (like a prairie dog perhaps) and the river running by. I have stayed several times here and have always left feeling kinda sad because of the way i have been treated here (Great!). My wife and I will be back twice in 2013 going back to OHIO for summer for a week and excited to visit again at Christmas time for. Week Plus. Five stars for us.
I stayed here in mid summer as part of a huge Mopar group. My room was on the first floor, creekside. Everything in the room functioned normaly, and I had a balcony overlooking the creek. All the car club members were able to gather in the parking lot, and swap stories, party till wee hours of the morning, etc. There are several restaurants that deliver right to your door, so no need to drive anywhere if you don't want to. It was a great place to stay. Staff was courtious and friendly. Views are awesome. It is a little bit off the strip but perfect for us with a new baby (croud noises). The place is a little outdated, but sometimes thats not a bad thing. The top floor has high ceiling with fan, sorry no pics. Would definately stay again in a heartbeat.
My family & I try to come to Gatlinburg a couple of times a year. We always stay at the Sydney James! The people there make you feel so at home & it's so close to everything, yet feels so private. Every Valentines my husband takes me there & they have grown so use to use, they make sure I get a club room with fireplace so my husband & I can have a romantic getaway! I love you guys!
So glad I decided to stay there......Room was nice and clean. Staff was very friendly. Indoor pool was nice, I liked the way ot was designed. Also has a Jacuzzi and Sauna! Trolley stop near hotel. Close to main attractions. I would definitely recomend this hotel. And I will definitely stay there on my next visit to Gatlinburg, TN :-)
i stay with sid , bill and the rest of the fine staff here at least once a year. everybody from sid (gm), bill (overnight desk mgr ) to the cafe staff welcome me as if it were home for me. accomodations are great......just stayed in a creekside room .....those were nice. i have my own room they reserve for me each year. this is a great, family friendly place that i reccomend highly !
There was a small mix up in rooms but Joe made sure that we were taken care of. We will be back to see them and would recommend them to anyone. Thank you Joe for making sure that our vacation was a great one!!!:)
The SJM Lodge is a family owned lodge and the staff could not have been more friendly. Our room was equipped with a fireplace which we loved. The hotel is a short 10 minute walk to the heart of Gatlinburg shopping and restaurants. We also had 2 breakfasts and one dinner at the on-site cafe. The meals were prepared perfectly. The indoor heated pool and hot tub looked so inviting we regretted not packing our swimsuits. It was an excellent value and we would highly recommend it.
