A fresh, innovative approach to Thai cuisine and a hip, sexy bar lure the denizens of Alberta Arts and beyond. – In Short The historic Alberta Substation, with its grand facade, monumental walls and shuttered cathedral windows impart British Colonial elegance, while textured abstract paintings and a glistening modern bar add a tony 21st-century vibe. Romantic couples and trendy singles enjoy a menu that reflects the same marriage of classical and cutting edge: Pulled pork spring rolls with cinnamon, vanilla and hazelnuts, ro... read more

It's my new favorite restaurant – I was sorry to see that one reviewer had a bad time at the Siam Society. I have been there several times and have always recieved great service. As for the food, I have not ordered a bad dish yet. I especially like the chang mai sausage and the spicy sauteed eggplant. I think their phad thai is great, perhaps that previous reviewer missed the taste of the ketchup that's usually squeezed into phad thai in most other thai restaurants.

Great Service and Great Food! – The service was some of the best I've had in any restaurant and in my opinion the food was fantastic. While we did order and eat the most ubiquitous (and in my opinion - most boring) Thai meal on the planet (Pad Thai) there, I did feel it was the most authentic version of Pad Thai I've eaten in the US. The only thing that could have made the dish more authentic would be the tiny salty shrimp that is essential for real Bangkok Pad Thai. We started off with the Calamari (excellent!), then had th... read more

Ditto++... – Pretty much like to echo the remarks that reviewer bobcure stated. I was a bit apprehensive about yet one more Thai restaurant opening on Alberta, but I would have to say that it is perhaps one of, if not the best Thai restaurants I've been to to date, both in food quality and service. Good local draft beer selections, imaginative/tasty drink options. Very friendly staff and excellently prepared food. We couldn't stop eating the Panang Curry with beef. The curry was to die for! Give it a try. Looking forward to ... read more

Welcome to Alberta – I have to admit that I was not excited hearing that another Thai restaurant was opening on Alberta, but I'm so glad I tried it anyway. The food is wonderful, subtle, spicy and flavorful, not just hot. They have a great happy hour menu, good cocktails, and great service. Very friendly, attentive but not too much so. They did a good job renovating the space, it is comfortable and elegant. All in all an exciting addition to Alberta.

Unusually Awesome Thai Food – I've been eating Thai food for years now, and I thought I knew what to expect from every Thai restaurant. Quite frankly, Thai food was getting a bit boring for me. Then Siam Society comes along and kicks everything up a notch. Well, more than a notch...the restaurant is located in the old Alberta Sub Station which they've remodeled into something spectacular. The service is great. They actually greet you at the door and make you feel welcome unlike most Thai restaurants. Siam Society is classy, ... read more
