I have been a Volunteer at Shriners Hospital in Sacramento oh the Therapeutic Recreation/Child Life department for 9 years next month and have loved every minute of it! The staff here is out of this world!! They truly love kids and want to do anything they can to help the get better and lead a fulfilling and productive life. If I (& the other volunteers) can give the staff and the families of our patients a break and give the children a chance to just be kids and not patients then that is what we're here to do. The Fort Bragg Leo Club (sponsored youth group of the Fort Bragg-Mendocino Lions) is a youth organization ages 12 to 18. They raised funds to donate to the Shriners Hospitals for Children. They personally delivered a check in the amount of $1,500 as well as over $300 worth of toys and goodies for the kids. The Fort Bragg Shriners accompanied the club to the Hospital and were greeted by an amazing staff and given a wonderful tour of the facility. It felt like a beautiful hotel, not a hospital. My Daughter's 1 yr full spinal fusion follow up with Dr .Roberto, I wouldn't change anything. From 93.5% curvature to 26%. In the beginning I had extreme inhibitions researched reviews, spoke to other parents that had the surgery done with Dr. Gupta, whom I had my heart set on. I requested to change to Dr. Gupta after my first visit with Dr. Roberto . Very nice experience at Shriners of Northern California. The doctors give many opportunities to ask questions. The nurses are very accommodating. The child life specialists are wonderful.
