I feel very lucky that i got to shouldice since most people dont have imsurance / funds to get this treatment.. ive learned gratitude.. Ramin, the maitenance man helped me clear off my car because he saw i didnt have.a snow brush (and that was after a lot of snow,) amd made sure i got out safely...that man sums up shouldice for me. :)
Absolutely phenomenal experience. I went to Shouldice for an umbilical hernia repair in Jan. 2026. The surgery was quick and easy, and the Shouldice experience was magical. I was initially skeptical of the recommendation to stay 4 nights (one night before surgery then 3 nights after), but it turned out to be a wonderful opportunity to rest and recover in a relaxed environment, enjoy delicious food, be cared for by an amazing team, and make new friends amongst the other patients. I'm writing this about 2 weeks after my hernia operation and I am 100% happy with the results. I contribute my results to the great staff at the hospital, from the happy, friendly cleaning staff, the excellent kitchen staff, the friendly and helpful administration staff, and last but not least, the professional, talented Doctors and Nurses that made me feel that they had my health's best interest at heart. Thank you so much for a job well done.

I recently had a bilateral inguinal hernia repair at The Shouldice Hospital. I had an extremely positive experience. I was very nervous, not knowing what to expect. Every staff member - surgeons, nurses, PSWs, house keeping - was lovely and caring. The atmosphere was calm, the food was great, and I felt cared-for. You develop an odd bond with your fellow patients, and at times it felt more like a healing retreat than a hospital. I cannot imagine going anywhere else for this surgery.
