Not a pleasant experience at all. First, charging a $20 flat parking rate is outrageous. Then the pay machines are in desperate need to be repaired. Us and 3 others , that we know of, had a difficult time with different machines. None printed out tickets to prove we paid. Upon arriving at the receptionist desk, the receptionist was rude. I wanted to provide an objective and personalized review of my experience with Shouldice. I wish I could say it was more positive, but overall I’m feeling disappointed and somewhat misled. I first became a patient of Shouldice in 2021 or 2022 after developing a double inguinal hernia. I was advised that to be considered a suitable candidate for surgery, I needed to lose weight ideally down to around 200 pounds. At the time, I was between 245–250 lbs. I got in good shape before my operation. The recovery process was very relaxing. I took frequent walks outside without the normal stresses of daily life. They have an apple orchard! One thing I would strongly recommend--the nurses are great, but if you keep on a strict pain relief schedule yourself (alternating Tylenol and Toradol every three hours), especially the first day or two after, you'll get through recovery MUCH easier.
