Good sushi at a decent price – I've been going to Shiki Sushi on most Friday's for lunch for the past 2-3 years. My co-workers and I started going when it was a small restaurant with good sushi and they started the buy one get one free at lunch special. The service was always slow but we continued to go back b/c the sushi was great. In fact, we just started leaving earlier and beating the crowd. Now they've expanded and redecorated and it looks great. They increased the price a bit but it's still worth it. They have added a ... read more
A pig in a tuxedo is still a pig... – Being someone who has spent half of his life in the restaurant industry, I tend to be more understanding than not when a negative incident occurs at a restaurant. After being a guest at Shiki Sushi's for 2 years, I can no longer stand to go there. My final experience was so poor, I registered for this to make my first review. It seems like their food quality and service was competing with the ambiance, until the ambiance won. In the past year, that place has gone through more managers an... read more
If I could give Shiki less than one star I would – I've been to Shiki many times in the past and have been fairly satisfied. Tonight I went with a party of 8 and the majority of us were unhappy with our meals and sushi. The quality, flavor and service have gone way downhill as the prices go up and the new decor goes in. My food was flavorless, I ordered the vegetables with peanut 'sauce' and tasted some sushi. I'm not sure what the soupy goo was that was on my veggies, but I'm not convinced it was peanut anything! btw, there... read more
New Decor, Less Class – Instead of going to Akashi, as we normally do, we decided to give the revamped Shiki Sushi another shot. We'd been here many times before the new decor change and had had okay sushi and mediocre service. Even after all of the style changes, Shiki is once again someplace I'd rather not spend my money. After my husband had to have two new menus given to him (1st had page repeats, 2nd had prices wrong), we could still barely read the text on the menu (even our server had trouble). We ordered approx. $20 ... read more
Best Of the Best!! Love sushi and all the kitchen food!! I have been dined in shiki over 20 times, tried all kind of food – I've eaten at many sushi places around the world, and I'd have to say that Shiki Sushi is the best! all the servers are very nice ! The sushi chefs are great ! You should try all the Shiki Specialty rolls! all on the sushi menu, and All 2for1, They get sushi shipment afew times a week, the fish are very fresh! The hosts are super friendly!! you have to go there and give it a try!! never say never!
Came to Southpoint to shop but should have eaten at the food court – Left with a sour taste after eating here. My wife saw this place as we stopped to get gas before going to southpoint and we decided to go after (she) finished shopping lol. I ordered a couple of rolls for my wife and I and had some special instructions on the rolls but the "Chef made a mistake" and it took 45 min to get our sushi. Luckly my daugher got her food sooner but the poor thing didn't even eat it because she didn't like it. Eventually after we got ... read more
Messy and longggggg wait to eat. – Server was nice and attentive but sushi took way too long!!!!! almost and hour wait. I will say that I was a busy Friday night but I wasn't the only one complaining about the wait. Also the sushi wasn't fresh and it wasn't a picturesque like you see all the time at other sushi places. I looked like it'd been rolled, shoved in a dryer and put on a plate. Very messy. I don't recommend.
Do NOT go here! – First of all, the "buy one get one free" deal screwed my friends and I over. They ended up not splitting our check, so we paid 20 dollars more than we should have. Secondly, the owner was completely rude to us. We wanted to ask him about our check, and it took him about ten minutes to finally get over to us. Then when he did come over, he would not let us speak and kept on interrupting us. He finally yelled and walked away from us, without finishing the conversation. I later went up to him to tell him that ... read more
not worth it – Service is not good. Hostess doesn't know what's going on. Soy sauce is watery. Sushi is okay. Not even worth getting the "buy one get one free", when you still have to pay a quarter for the sushi that is "free". Went there once with a couple of friends and the bartender took about 15 minutes to make our drink, and I would understand if he was busy and there were tickets piling up but I'm pretty sure he wasn't busy. Service is just not good.
