Had left knee replacement last February. Pain free for the first time in 35 years! Right one replaced in October. Pain free again,except for the physio. I am so grateful to this friendly, professional, compassionate and highly skilled man and his entire clinic staff. They are all terrific!
I had full knee replacement, been a year now and my knee is not even close to my pre surgery still have a lot of pain can barely walk and he has a poor bedside manner and is full of himself
I had two TKRs last year three months apart. I could not be happier. I thought the first surgery was great, however the second surgery was even better. I found Dr. Ekert to be very professional. Update from 17DEC18... Surgery is a huge success! I'm swimming hiking and doing my Yoga like I was 10 years ago before the pain started to impact my activity levels. I'm also able to sleep at night way better with less pain and less need to move around... Also can lay on my side without a pillow between my legs and with no pain whatsoever, which has NEVER been a thing for me before! Thanks so much :)
Had a partial meniscectomy performed by Dr. Ekert. Very happy with the result and with how conservative he was with the procedure.
Had TKR in Nov 2017. 1.5 year later I couldn't be happier with my knee. The recovery is longer and harder than I anticipated, and being an ex-athlete I have high expectations. Dr Ekert informed me well as to the reality of the surgery, the risks, and the LT prognosis. So far everything has gone as expected or better. Back to doing the level and intensity of exercise and fitness I had hoped for. No running or mogul skiing, but hiking, biking, XC skiing to my hearts delight.
I am so grateful to Dr. Ekert for working on my hip.... it’s not even been two weeks but I wanted to rate him based on his performance so far.... he is kind, good listener, calming presence, and exudes confidence and competence... and I believe his morals are of the best out there today :)
Dr. Ekert performed a less common anterior hip replacement surgery on me in February. I am now seven months post-surgery and couldn't be happier with the result. Dr. Ekert was very professional, and answered all of my questions thoroughly prior to surgery. Post surgery his nurse was helpful with the questions I had. I was extremely satisfied with Dr. Ekert as my orthopaedic surgeon and the surgery itself literally gave me back the quality of life I once had.
I drove in from Calgary to see Dr. Ekert and he saw me on his lunch break so that I could make the appointment on time. He was amazing overall, explained the surgery to me, answered all my questions, and had fantastic bedside manners. One of my coworkers had a labral tear too and no surgeon in Calgary would help him, when I mentioned this to Dr. Ekert he said he would definitely take a look and he got my coworker an appointment two weeks later. Dr. Ekert is by far the best surgeon I’ve ever had.
