Terrible service!!! Customer service deserves 0 stars!! Shellpoint took over records from Specialized Loan Servicing for a loan we had paid off in 2021. SLS never released our lien. So its now Shellpoint responsibility to send the release. Myself, a lender and 2 title companies have sent requests to Shellpoint and Newrez multiple times over 6 weeks. Still not resolved, no responses. Customer service cant help, supervisors cant/wont help you. Management says all they can do is email the department.

Our secondary home loan was previously serviced by Specialized Loan Services until June when we received a series of confusing letters from both Shellpoint and SLS. The first welcomed us to the new lender, then a second told us that the first letter was sent by mistake, then the third stated everything was the same, if we were set to auto draft (we were) we didn't need to worry. So we went about our lives waiting for our monthly statements. Nothing for July's due payment, again we weren't concerned; we were told our auto dr... read more

They must be forcing employees to write reviews for them this a 0 star company. Customer service is a joke so u know top management is even worse if u could get a hold of them. They are debt collector that it .we need to get together and get their license in each state revoked they think they are too big. Look for it I will be trying to get a class action lawsuit going on them. everyone needs to put bbb complaint in .call your state representatives ang any one else u can call to take it to them. Let's see if corporate has ph... read more

So SLS is now Shellpoint. Nice shiny new name, same old sorry customer service they've been given since my mortgage was sold to them in 2019. I've had nothing but problems out of this company. You can't find anyone there who is helpful or knows anything. Their message about rebranding and better service falls flat. The first thing they did was stop accepting weekly drafts from my bank account. Their website does not work for setting up a new payment method (bi-weekly). I called to set up payments during working hours and voi... read more

Since Octoberof 2021, I had a home loan with Caliber Home Loans. I made EVERY payment on time and was NEVER late. On November 1, 2022, Shellpoint Mortgage assumed my loan from Caliber. I was NEVER notified by Caliber nor Shellpoint Mortgage of the change, so I continued making my monthly payments ($1526.95) to Caliber, ALL of which were on time. My November 2022 payment was sent to Shellpoint, by Caliber, so that was on time. My December 2022 payment was sent to Shellpoint, by Caliber, but now my mortgage payment has jumpe... read more

My FHA mortgage was transferred to Shellpoint Mortgage. I had homeowners insurance on the property and I was only paying $800/year. They charged me $3,998 for $400,000 of Hazard Placed Insurance on a $120,000 house. They caused my insurance through Travelers to be canceled and in order to reinstate the policy I’d now have to pay $1400/yr. They made my payments increase from $981/mo. to $1267+/mo. They wouldn’t offer me any forbearance options or payment plans until I was in default. After nearly a year of disputing the erron... read more

I currently have Shellpoint as my mortgage collector. They purchased my original loan. When setting up the mortgage payments with this company, I took the bi-monthly payment option to save on interest payments. This company is fraudulent in the way they take your payments. They withdraw your payments 2x per month and apply it collectively one time per month, allowing them to collect additional interest on your account. At the end of the year, bimonthly payments should save you a full month's payment amount in interest a... read more

They are an uncaring company. I've been with them for years with a stellar payment history, but after a severe emergency I had one late payment. I wrote a letter asking for some humanity to forgive this and remove it from my credit report, which they denied. I will never use them ever again.

I'm not sure why it would take two months to forward to the credit bureau that a mortgage loan is paid off and this is just to forward it. It hasn't even been processed yet. You send emails with no response, customer service has no idea and to say the least the first thing that they tell before you even started is this is a debt collector and you're being recorded.
