Tried to attend an event here and the directions to navigate inside the park were confusing so I missed the event. Very disappointing after driving 30 miles in from St. Louis.
Multiple outdoor nature trails consisting of less than a mile to about two and a half miles. You can go from one trail to another to spend more time on the trails if you want to. Partial woods, prairie, river bank along the Meramac river. Great ways to spend time outdoors. And no poison ivy or bug bites to speak of!
Always a great place to hike, beautiful trails from the prairie to the river. Birds of all species, deer, animal tracks galore !! If you don’t experience this nature reserve you are missing a jewel.

Love Shaw Nature Reserve! The reserve is only 10 mins from my home. Miles and miles of trails to hike and explore! From the Prairie to the Wetlands; the Wildflower trail to the Bluff Overlook, there's beauty at every turn! Pass through the Glades on your way to the River trail which has one of the largest gravel bars on the Meramec River. Hike a mile or hike 5 miles. There's a trail for everyone! Creative learning and play area for kids from 2 to 8. Very engaging and all natural. Large and beautiful hiking and trail areas that lead to the river. It's $5 per adult because not state supported. Private institution.
