Some people prefer modern restaurants with wall mounted tanks filled with exotic fish. They expect Art Deco lighting and chairs made more for the sake of art, than comfort. Well, we’re old fashioned. Thick wood beams, with over two hundred years of wear, stretch from ceiling to the floor. Our sturdy tables and chairs remain for their comfort, to craddle you while enjoying a delicious meal. A no frills atmosphere will keep you content, and coming back from more. With age comes experience.

RecommendedYummy fresh seafood. Delicious lobster for dinner. Great beer. Fantastic key lime pie. Most of all fantastic location at the waterfront for spectacular sunsets or views of the lake. Then when your done you can walk the bike path for a bit of exercise.
GREAT staff, even if they wouldn't sell me a t-shirt...and delicious food.
On the porch at sunset cannot be beat! Clam chowder is some of the best I have ever eaten! The fish and chips were perfect as well.

Great Seafood and atmosphere! I Stop here every visit to Burlington, VT. I recommend Shanty on the Shore to everyone!
Ordered the Seafood Combo, everything was covered in cornmeal, including the clam strips! The cornmeal covers the flavor of the food. Shanty’s By The Shore should learn to use a flour batter on the Seafood and a very extra fine cornmeal/ flour mixture for the shrimp. It’s how real New England Seafood is cooked!!! I guess if you want real seafood, you go to the SeaCoast. Disappointed in what was served. I felt like I ate a giant cornmeal muffin!
