We would go back to Shalimar Cottages in a heartbeat. In fact, I would love to bring more family with us the next time. It's in a perfect location, quiet, with beautiful sunsets.
Recently a friends father in law passed away and she called to see if she could change her dates. They told to pay$650 to change date or $650 to cancel. This shows they have no compassion for people only money. I would never stay here and I will pass this on.
wow yes this was a very cozy place to have winter holiday by the seashore /gulf . My girlfreind loved it too . becuse of the beach, shelling but the clean rooms and all the amentities we could ask for . Friendly island . We loved the special things to do on the island as well food ,sand, surf moon lite skies and stars in the sky wow . So wonderfull for our first time . we will be back this christmas 2015
It's right on the beach... Just grab one of their lightweight beach chairs and you're all set! Their rooms are decorated really cute, they're super clean and have a full size kitchen, plus our and pans, utensils, etc. Nice bathroom and screen porch. We stayed in the Motel. We were able to head out for sunrise, laze around on the beach, go to the room for lunch, go back to the beach and watch the sunsets! Love it love it love it! Super friendly staff also!
We just returned home from our 4th trip. Shalimar is perfect for us. We always request the same cottage. It's like visiting friends every year. It is a relaxing time, with easy beach access, beach chairs provided. Be sure to have bug spray on hand. Those no see ums are brutal!!
