RecommendedIt's about 50 steps from the Gulf of Mexico. Clean, non- pretentious, quiet. Beautifully secluded, yet close to everything.
What a great place to stay...very kind staff...clean beautiful rooms....super comfy beds....and they loaned me a box fan so my sis and I can cohabitate for 10 days....lol. Loven my time at the Shalimar!!
My husband and I stayed here on Aug 16th-19th for our 15yr anniversary in the motel room #11 which has an amazing view! It was pretty perfect. Motel could do w some upgrades but all in all a great spot! I found a baby sea turtle by the stairs going up to our room so maybe their lights should be a different wattage or make them red lights. But we brought the little guy to the ocean where he's home now. Hope he grows up strong! Or she. 😊🐢 We had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back!

Having a wonderful time w my sister and her family at sanibel n captiva.
It was a last minute decision to visit the island and Shalimar is right on the beach. We stayed in the Motel and enjoyed the room and location. Highly recommend Shalimar.
Awesome place!
Fantastic little hidden gem. Great location and you cannot be closer to the beach....woke up and saw dolphins out my window! It's not the Ritz but it is perfectly appointed, clean and peaceful. Chairs for you to use, coffee in the office in the morning, bikes you can rent and a great restaurant steps away! Not our first time here and won't be our last.
