One of the worst apartment experiences I’ve ever had. Trains run constantly, including in the middle of the night, and they go on for long stretches at a time. Frustratingly, there was no disclaimer or warning about this whatsoever. As a result, it’s nearly impossible to enjoy any peace and quiet in the apartment. Beyond that, the pricing is misleading. The advertised base rent is not what you actually end up paying, and you can hear pretty much everything your neighbors are doing due to the thin walls.
I have lived here for 4 years, and everything ranging from the amenities, maintenance staff, and management have been nothing short of amazing. I would consider leasing a unit again if I ever return
My sisters and I lived at Shadyside Commons for three years during my time at Carnegie Mellon, and it was the best place to live! Very convenient walk to campus and located in such a beautiful neighborhood, close to Walnut Street with lots of restaurants and shops. Katie and Kathleen are absolutely excellent. Katie and Kathleen literally go above and beyond to make this place feel like a home. From the moment I moved in, they were making sure it was smooth and I was able to settle in at ease. They are one of the kindest people I know to ever exist! They also throw amazing events in the building that are always fun to attend and they make amazing punch (you have to try it).
