My sisters and I lived at Shadyside Commons for three years during my time at Carnegie Mellon, and it was the best place to live! Very convenient walk to campus and located in such a beautiful neighborhood, close to Walnut Street with lots of restaurants and shops. Katie and Kathleen are absolutely excellent. Katie and Kathleen literally go above and beyond to make this place feel like a home. From the moment I moved in, they were making sure it was smooth and I was able to settle in at ease. They are one of the kindest people I know to ever exist! They also throw amazing events in the building that are always fun to attend and they make amazing punch (you have to try it). I've absolutely loved my time living at Shadyside Commons! Katie and Kathleen are incredibly kind, always going above and beyond to make residents feel welcome and taken care of. The holiday parties were such a thoughtful touch, making it feel like a true community rather than just a place to live. I am so grateful to call this place my home. The apartments are well updated and maintained (any maintenance request has been addressed in less than 48 hours) and the building manager is open to improvements/suggestions (we now have an electronic blind set for our upper window).
