After many color nightmares, I went to Shade after a friend recommended I try the salon. I was looking for a place in Astoria that was reasonable and professional and my friend is very particular and her hair always looked good so I decided to give the salon a try. Michelle understood right away what I was looking to do with my color and two hours later, I was the shade of blonde I love again! Thank you!
Exquisite Spa – What an experience! I am 5 months pregnant and have looked all over for a TRUE ORGANIC spray tan. Most spas don"t know what ingredients are in their products and I truly don"t want to chance anything when it comes to my baby. I called and spoke to the owner who was very informative. She gave me a list of the products which I showed my doctor and he approved. I went in for a spray tan feeling confident about the product that was being used. Thank you so much Shade Bar for making me feel beautiful.
bad customer service – I asked about the natural "organic" ingredients in the sprays 2 times and i never got an answer! How am I supposed to go there and spend money when they do not live up to their name?!
best facial& wax with Elisa – By far i had the best facial ever.. I`ve been around the city and tried alot of facials and finally i found someone who understands my needs and my skin never looked better. I had ELISA and i highly recommend her.. My experience was similar to the first-class treatment I have eperienced i Europe. Also, the waxing didn't hurt at all,even in the most sensitive areas and i wasn't red after at all. I love the place and i will be returning!!
Great "sun-kissed" wedding day – On my wedding day friends asked me, "When did you go away?!" The spray tan I got at Shade Bar was THAT natural-looking. I only went once previously to check it out; meant to come back and try different shades. But I knew what a great job Maria did the first time and totally trusted that it would look fabulous for my big day—and it did. SANDRA - AN EYEBROW WAXING SPECIALIST FOR GUYS AND MORE ! – Ok - so this was my first time going to SHADE BAR after reading reviews here on Citysearch. I wanted to get my Eyebrows shaped and was not sure where to go. Best Spa in Astoria – I can highly recommend the spa. Once you come in the door, the ambience is very inviting and relaxing. I hade a body scrub, it was very relaxing and later on my skin was super smooth. Very friendly staff. Fair prices compare to Manhattan. Location good to reach.
best facial i ever had! – I've been to spas like Bliss and The Red Door on fifth avenue. This facial topped all the rest. The ingredients are organic, and for once I didn't look like I had been beaten when I left. My skin was soft and immaculate. I was ready to fall asleep on the table it was so relaxing. Nice place, very friendly staff – Very nice clean and serene place. The staff was really wonderful. I went there with my mom and she felt comfortable and happy. I had the facial and the body treatment - relaxing and the girl was careful and sweet. At the end I was tempted to get the facial cream and instead she offered to give me samplers first so that i can try before buying anything! So sweet!
