We invite you to enjoy a delicious hormone-free, ground-in-house hamburger, sandwich, or salad. Starting from the ground up, we make all of our food from scratch. Try some of our famous housemade condiments or bread & butter pickles on your burger, or choose one of our many housemade salad dressings on your salad. 1.) The food is here absolutely wonderful. 2.) The service is horrible. My husband and I have been going here for months. Recently the service took a dive for the worse. I ordered my shake when my meal arrived. It never came. When we finished eating our meal, it took them 20 mins to get us our checks. My shake still didn't come. The waitress finally came to get our cards. 20 mins later she brings our cards back and our shakes to go. I would have enjoyed it more if I was able to eat it with my meal. Oh and during all of this ... read more
ALL WE COULD SAY WAS – WE JUST HAPPEN TO BE IN CITADEL MALL AS IT WAS GETTING LATE. WE WERE HUNGRY NEEDED SOMETHING TO EAT & WE WERE ABOUT TO SETTLE FOR THE FOOD COURT WHEN MY WIFE SAYS. LETS TRY Sesame Burgers, SHE HAD NOTICED THE LINE OF PEOPLE WHEN WE ENTERED THE MALL. WE WENT IN AND FELL IN LOVE WITH NOT ONLY THE FOOD BUT THE SERVICE AS WELL I HAD A TURKEY BURGER SHE HAD THE FISH TACOS BOTH WERE DELICIOUS. WE WANTED TO GO BACK BEFORE WE LEFT CHARLESTON BUT WE WILL BE GOING BACK.
You Gotta Try The Fried Pickles – Make no bones about it, this is a destination restaurant. It’s out of the way and we needed our GPS to get there. Because the N. Charleston St. Patrick’s Day parade was in close proximity to the restaurant it was very crowded. Regardless, we thought it was worth the trip. They have a beer menu of 60+ selections and their menu is extensive. Even though it is written on the menu I missed the fact that they “proudly serve Meyers Farm hormone free, grass fed beef.” And that it is ground in house... read more
Best burgers in Charleston – I discovered this place on accident and have been back weekly ever since. Fantastic customer service, excellent food, HOMEMADE EVERYTHING (Ketchup, mustard, mayo, pickles, smoked meat, hand ground steak). Met Joe and he comped me a dessert just for telling him how much I loved his restaurant, how awesome is that.
All in the name – If you put "burger" in the name of your restaurant, you'd better have a good one on the menu. There are several at Sesame that are sublime. Come to think of it, I haven't had one that isn't amazing. I wasn't crazy about the home-made ketchup, but now you can get the store bought-stuff there. ;-) Don't let the location intimidate you. This is not the Spruill avenue from the days of the Navy base. Come early because Sesame is not a secret. The lunch crowd knows about it and fills it quick. They have vegitaria... read more
