I went into Serge A lot twice over the last few weeks seeking advice on a new sewing machine purchase for quilting. Brad was so helpful with his advice, and had me test out 3 different machines. I never felt like he was trying to sway me in one direction vs the other. I ultimately ended up ordering a Bernina 570qe and I’m so excited to get it!

Fantastic. Brought in a Singer simple I got from my grandma that kept breaking the needle. Brought it in and he said it needed to be re timed. Picked it up a week later and he said he fixed a bunch of other stuff but still charged me the original quote. He said I was using the wrong bobbin. Demo'd the repairs and it works better than I've ever seen.

This review is long overdue, because I first went here 5 years ago (and I no longer live in SF currently). I was getting into sewing at the time, and was trying to figure out my mom's old sewing machine. With the help of the family at Serge A Lot, I was recommended to buy an entry level Baby Lock sewing machine that was not too expensive (a little over $100 I believe) and they were able to recycle my mom's old machine (which I found out to be a terrible model). Excellent, knowledgeable service for my sewing, serging, and coverstitch machines. Brad even took the time to boost my skills with a quick discussion of how to troubleshoot my coverstitch machine. Always a pleasure to visot Serge-a-Lot!

He did an incredible job fixing my Janome. It’s running smoother than it did when I first bought it!!! Definitely going to be more serious about regular machine tune ups. Great customer service, great pricing, extremely effective! Would highly recommend Serge a Lot :)
