Originally a 19th Century print shop, Sepia blends details from the past with the sophistication of the present. Exposed bricks, smoked glass, shades of brown, and food served on natural wood and cast iron pans instead of plates all give Sepia a rustic-chic ambiance. The food is American comfort with a contemporary twist, and is made with organic and/or sustainable ingredients whenever possible. Excellent food. Excellent wines and spirits. An entire staff very caring and present in what they are doing. My husband and I get out on a "date night" twice a year if we are lucky as we are both in the restaurant business. Our experience inspired us and showed us what it takes to to get to the next level of cuisine. My husband and I usually get one dessert to share but opted to each get our own on this particular night. We are still debating whose we liked more. Both were so fantastic. Thank you for the wonderful service!
Business response:
Thank you for your review. We are glad that we could be the "date night" location for you and your husband! You're more than welcome to come dine again for a romantic evening. Cheers!
It was my birthday that my 2 daughters brought me here for dinner. This restaurant is unique and nice ambiance place to dine in. Good food and service. I will definitely go back
Loved the food, good balance of complexity and comfort. Olive oil cake, corn sorbet, stone bass entree and grilled squid are highlights. Service was awkward; two servers seemed confused to who was waiting on us. It took 25 minutes before we had our first drink.
Food and portions were disappointing for the prices.
We had swordfish and beef shank and peanut butter mousse. Everything was delicious and they have some really cool funky cocktails and interesting mixology!
Outstanding venue for Michelin Star Chicago fine dining. Great owner with Emmanuel Nony and superior Sommelier Arthur Hon. Anthony Mathieu is the attentive and detailed oriented general manager.
