About this business

Originally a 19th Century print shop, Sepia blends details from the past with the sophistication of the present. Exposed bricks, smoked glass, shades of brown, and food served on natural wood and cast iron pans instead of plates all give Sepia a rustic-chic ambiance. The food is American comfort with a contemporary twist, and is made with organic and/or sustainable ingredients whenever possible. We order 5 items which came with a complimentary pallet cleanser (don’t do it) and dessert. I can’t say anything was delicious, in fact the duck was particularly awful with an after taste. The scallops and rabbit pasta was good - but I wouldn’t go back for the price or recommend this restaurant.

A constant when it comes to excellently executed dishes. The melding of very different flavors and tastes is mindblowing!! Well with a visit. Oh and btw- they make a mean negroni!!!

Simply fabulous. Knowledgeable and attentive wait staff. Picturesque food presentation. Staff watched our queues for speed of service. Attention to details like a never empty water glass and beautiful mini cheese board for bread. Sepia is a hidden gem of Chicago.

Business response:

Thank you for the kind review, Elizabeth! We're so happy you enjoyed your experience ✨

Private event: slow service, cold food, tiny portions, didn’t even have good cookies.

Impressive evening with classy wine paired tastings and excellent service. Chef Andrew Zimmerman did not disappoint! Jason was on top of it as our attentive professional server. The next time I’m in Chicago I’ll treat myself to enjoy another evening here. Sharing this experience with my foodie friends. Kudos to all.

Business response:
