Terrible Stay – We could not get a hot shower, our phones were not working so we could not call down to tell them what was going on. Had to get dressed to let them know. We also had disgusting towels. I expected a much nicer hotel. Maybe it was nice at one time but not anymore. I would not stay here again and would advise others to stay at another hotel.

Quaint – Great cocktails and appetizers. I love the old Hollywood feel.

Least favorite part of our stay. – The bar itself is lovely and my husband and I could easily have had a really nice time but for the bartender. We stayed at the hotel over Valentine's and this was our first stop after we checked in. My husband had a beer first off, a Ninkasi, that tasted a little off. So for his next drink he decided to get a Maker's old fashioned. As we waited for his drink to arrive, we heard the bartender discussing with an older couple at the bar what he was making for my husband so we were watching him... read more

Unique and Cozy – If you're in the mood for a bar worthy of Sam Spade, this is it: dark, plush, and did I mention....dark. Your eyes adjust after awhile and you get to chuckle at the newcomers feeling their way around as they enter this cave-like bar. But it's really cool if you just go with the flow and let the vibe take over. What's even more cool are the cocktails. They are fresh, inventive, and oh so wonderful tasting. A little pricey, but this isn't a place you're going to hang out every night, so go ahead and splurge. ... read more

Style and modern comforts merge at this sleek hotel. – A slick black-and-white lobby sets a hip, modern tone for the business travels and tourists who seek out this distinctive downtown hotel. Known for its high level of service and prime location in Portland’s city core, the 128-room space sticks to clean lines and handsome marble- and mahogany-appointed rooms, lending an understated appeal throughout. The elegant rooms come in all sizes but all overnights include up-to-date amenities like plush pillow top mattresses, iPod ... read more

Horrible Hotel Experience – I found Hotel Preston on the internet and liked the rate and that it was close to everything. It smelled like smoke! The pool had about 5 lounge chairs and it was located about 100 feet from a bad neighborhood. My car was even vandalized in their parking lot. I will never stay there again and advise anyone even thinking of it to pay an extra 50 bucks for a nicer hotel, it will be worth it.

The worst experience I've had in a long time! – We stayed there for a Photography workshop since that is where the workshop was. When we arrived, we checked in and were taken to our room. On the walk from the elevator to our room, we heard several LOUD dogs barking. It seemed every door we walked by had a bark. We went down to ask to be moved to another floor and on our way ran into several others who had already asked to move. We were told we had to come down to the front desk to move! Went down there, and while we were wai... read more

This lobby bar is more than a watering hole for overnight guests: it's a local hangout for cocktail-obsessed Portlanders. – In Short Tucked into a corner of the Hotel deluxe lobby, the Driftwood Room is entirely seductive with its dim lighting, curving wood-paneled walls and clubby atmosphere. At the brick-backed bar in front, cocktail aficionados watch mastermixologists perfect their craft. Beyond the bar, cozy couples and hotel guests indulge in inspired sips at intimate tabletops for two. Cocktails such as the sparkling E... read more
