Today’s experience was HORRIBLE!!! I have been here previously and had WONDERFUL experiences (location is Glenn Mitchell). When I got in to the room, I explained to my lab technician (Jordan) that I needed to use a butterfly needle because my veins tend to collapse. I have had enough blood draws and IVs to understand how my body works. This place is ridiculous.Multiple attempts to get the orders faxed over from my doctor's office, which has confirmation that they are sent there. Multiple phone calls saying they have the order.Then going to wait thirty minutes to be registered only to be told that they don't have the orders multiple times.Sentara needs to get their act together it is disgraceful. *Important thing to know* the lab starts providing services at 7 am but you can arrive at 6:30 am to get in line. I recommend arriving as early as possible especially if you are not able to stand for long periods of time because there's limited seating and it fills up fast. The wait is annoying but expected considering it is all walk-in patients.

I arrived at 9:00 AM at the Sentara outpatient lab on Glenn Mitchell Drive after working a night shift, needing bloodwork completed for an upcoming procedure. The waiting room was completely packed — and I mean completely. There was nowhere to sit. I was given a card after providing basic information but was not informed that appointments were even an option. How? How is this sooooooo expensive yet soooo slow, rude, uncaring, just all around unprofessional. No one has any sense of urgency or empathy for any of the people here.
