RecommendedMy husband had a kidney transplant. He is having complications that are keeping him in hospital. We live 4 hours away. If not for SECU House, I would not be able to be by his side during this life-changing time. I leave early and come back late. I feel safe pulling into parking lot and walking to building. The AM staff is supportive and cheerful!

SECU Family house is a wonderful place to stay. I stayed off and on for over a year while my husband was waiting for a heart transplant. We live over a 150 miles away. SECU house was my home away from home. They helped me in so many ways. They treated me like family and made a very difficult time so much easier. They are a God send to so many! The staff and volunteers become family and provide a relaxing healing environment, allowing residents to engage or disengage as they are willing and able. Strong bonds are forged, no matter how short or long the stay. What a beautiful journey!
Wonderful place to stay while your loved one is at UNC Medical. We were there for a couple of months in 2018. The people there, guests and staff, because our substitute family and will always hold a special place in my heart <3
