After I left rehabilitation, I wanted to step down process before I actually went home to my family. Second Chance was an amazing experience for me and let me get my life back. The staff is amazing, as well as the community of women that lives there. I was looking for structure and accountability, however, I still wanted freedom to work and visit my family when I wanted to. I moved out of Second Chance into my own apartment today. May 2022 was when I had reached a point in my life that I could not live the way I had been for a long time. I made a decision to get sober and entered a six week inpatient rehab. I found out about Second Chance thru my rehab and decided that a recovery residence was necessary if I wanted to maintain my sobriety. Second Chance Recovery has not only changed my life, they saved it!! I entered Second Chance November 18, 2022 after going to a 7 day detox facility for alcoholism. I completed the 6 month program on May 19, 2023, and thanks to their wonderful program I learned how to live SOBER!! One of the requirements at Second Chance is to attend daily Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, and build a network of sober people. For me, being at Second chance was the starting point to living life sober. The accountability, support, love, and encouragement that I received there was exactly what I needed to get through the first months of sobriety. My plan was to stay there for 6 weeks and I ended up staying for 6 months. I left with all the tools and with a great network of women that continue to help me stay sober to this day.
