I can confirm that the woman who answers the phone is extremely rude. An immediate turn off and will try to go somewhere else. They should really record their calls so they can understand how awful the initial experience is.
I've been with Scripps for 33 years and have both a PPO and secondary insurance. I called Scripps Whittier Diabetes Institute for an appointment. I was told since I wasn't referred to them I would be self pay and they couldn't use my insurance. The young lady was very stern and told me that was my only choice. I shared with her all my insurance info was in the Scripps system but she didn't want to look it up or help me. I will seek assistance elsewhere and advise others to do the same.
