I called Schobel's today to get a gift card for a Christmas gift. I don't live in Columbus, so I wanted to send a cashier's check or money order and have the gift card mailed to me. I was told the only way they would let me was if I put it on a credit card since I wanted it mailed. Hello, it would have to be mailed no matter what the type of payment is..... I love the German plate. They make their own sausage, not too coarse, always tender and delicious! It comes with creamy sauerkraut, a salad and a choice of side but I replace the sauerkraut with red cabbage because it's really good, too. Most people come from miles around for the buffet which is (I'm guessing) 30 feet long with a wide variety of food. It really isn't possible to leave hungry.
Been eating there since the early 80's. Have always found their food to be great. Quick service, and the Buffett breakfast is awsome. Alway will stop by when I am in Columbus to see relatives and on the way to San Antonio.
Very nice looking restaurant. Service was good. Salad bar had a variety of choices. My dinner of liver and onions with the squash casserole was very good. My Husbands choice of Pot roast and mashed potatoes not so much. Roast was very dry and tough, potatoes came plain no gravy. We were just passing thru.
