Dr. Schlesinger has a wonderful caring staff. I was in horrible pain and now I'm back on the golf course!
Staff was great to help me prepare for my procedure and Dr. Schlesinger did a wonderful job. I'd recommend him to any of my friends.
This doctor is horrible very rude and does not care about the patient at all. He only cares about money and will literally cause you more damage than do you good. Was sent home while having an active infection from surgery didnt even look at my incisions just stopped the antibiotics and discontinued the picc line and sent me home because he did not want to deal with me over the weekend. I would not advise anyone to use this surgeon.
Business response:
Regrettably, infections are an unusual but unavoidable risk following any form of surgery. A number of factors increase this risk, including numerous patient conditions that may weaken the immune system. Knowing all this, we take every step reasonably possible to prevent infections from developing and treat infections in a timely and appropriate fashion when they occur. I am grateful that my practice data, as compiled by St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center itself and from our outpatient surgery center, show an overall infec... read more
5 years ago this man operated on my wife's lower spine. When she woke from surgery she could not feelor move her right leg from the knee down. The next day we had to have. Drain tube removed and I demanded to see the dr before we made the 2 hour drive back home. My wife layed on a couch in the waiting room for 4 hours before he would finally see her only for him to b very rude and make the claim that my wife had suffered a stroke during sugery. This was found to be not true thanks to an MRI but was found was that he had some... read more
Business response:
Despite our best efforts, some patients with lower back problems serious enough to require neurosurgery can sometimes have residual symptoms in their lower extremities post-operatively. This depends a great deal on the nature and extent of the underlying problems and what had to be done at the time of surgery to address them. Obviously, many years have gone by since the procedure in question and memories do tend to get a bit hazy. That may be the reason for the confusion in the post about this person's wife laying on a couch... read more
Rudest place every - I had a steroid injection post surgery. My heart rate was 136 because I was so nervous. THe doctor said, you will be fine. Yeah, whatever!!! I had the injection. They say you will be in and out in 15 minutes. I passed out after my injection, hit my head on the ground. My heart rate was 160 and my blood pressure was so high it wouldn't register. I was told it was my sugar. They never even checked it. Come to find out four days later, I had to have another blood patch. I ended up in the ER. I was made to f... read more
Waited for over two hours to be seen. Schlesinger was very rude when he enter the room. First words from his mouth was what are you here for. I told him i had a disk ruptured in my neck. He asked me "what are you here for" three times. I needed help with the disk. He saw that I had a previous surgery from a doctor he knew and immediately said there was nothing he could do for me. He was insulting in his behavior and was quick to tell me they don't do pain management.. I didn't need medicine, but that seemed to be his preconc... read more
Waited & waited then waited some more. Had to complete forms after spending a lot if time completing them online. Poorly run office..
Dr. Schlesinger is an excellent neurosurgeon and I would highly recommend him to family members and friends. I've heard people complain about doctor visits lasting too long but I would never complain about a long wait at Dr. Scott Schlensinger's office because I know that he is taking his time with each individual patient. He takes his time to explain your conditions, the procedure that you will be having if necessary, and he evens takes time to answer questions. He has excellent bed side manners
I was a patient of his in 2004 for back surgery which left me with permanent nerve damage, then again this past Feb. for worsening pain in my back and legs. He hasn't changed a bit. Still rude, too busy to spend a few minutes with me. Looked at my MRI, never looked at me, no hands on exam..nothing wrong must be old nerve damage..try shots, therapy. And even though I have health insurance, payment was demanded up front. They even called several times prior to my appt asking for a credit card number or bank acct info, then too... read more
