This is an update on a prior review for a repeatedly dysfunctional elevator at 2300 Vestavia Reserve in Birmingham, Alabama. The elevator was down for a month in late May-June, serviced on June 27, and failed again on July 9. We've found that Schindler repairs typically last a few weeks, at best. Elderly and disabled people continue to be disadvantaged by this kind of poor performance--replicated for years, including a multiple-month shut down in 2022. No one will answer phone or call you back
Terrible customer service and they ignore all your calls and emails. I would not suggest ever getting a Schindler elevator installed. They constantly ignore and make up excuses and put the blame back on the customer. Our tenants have been without an elevator since November.
I live at The Avenue Huntsville and we've been waiting on Schindler to come fix our freight elevator for over a month. It's making it hard for people to move and get around the very large building.
