The Elton John concert was absolutely fantastic. We got there at about 7:30 only to see hundreds if not thousands of people with tickets standing in line waiting to get in. It was unbelievably poorly managed. There were only two doors open with security searching everybody with thousands of people coming in. There is no way it could've worked. We jumped over the fence and went through the will call area and budged in front of hundreds of people and still got in just as Sir Elton John opened with funeral for a friend. I felt ... read more
Elton John and his band put on an outstanding show in spite of this out-dated venue. I wondered why at 8pm there were so many empty seats even though it was a sold out concert. Then this morning we found out the patrons were in long lines outside just to go through the security process. Unacceptable! Luckily we arrived early and were in our seats by 7:30, or we would have missed the beginning of the concert, and we would have been very unhappy. Way past time for a new facility!
I arrived at 7:30 for an 8:00 concert. When the doors finally opened the line moved very slow. We missed the first 3 songs due to an unorganized program.
Never seen worse entry to a concert. Total chaos! Guess this is how they do it in the south.
Savannah Civic Center was a very roomy and enjoyable place to be. We were there with our daughter for SCAD orientation, which was very organized!
Elton John tickets are available. We're continuing to open seats. Keep trying. .
