We want to see Elton John. Going thru security was a breeze. The venue staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. Lighting and sound was good.. I will definitely return for other events.
Elton John was amazing. The venue was horrible. Disorganized entry, lines around the block at concert start time for ticket holders, poorly staffed, and HOT as hell in there. Sound quality was fair at best. Will definitely not go back.
It was so hot in there. You pay that much money for a ticket,at least it should be cool.
I had to give it a star to get to the review. I was one of ones who missed some of the show because of the total ineptitude of the Civic Center. I understand checking bags and having metal detectors, but they should have enough so that there is not a bottleneck getting into the civic center. Then, there was no one clearing the walkways so there was a huge bottleneck again inside. Concert itself was great, but venue operation was terrible. Thousands of people attending Elto John concert, yet there were only two single (not double) doors open, allowing people to go through metal detectors and wands. After that bottleneck, you the had two more single doors to go through to have your ticket checked, which took forever, including some ticket holders to have to have their e-tickets numbers "hand entered" into a computer while the line stood there immobile. Went to the Elton John Concert at the Civic Center. This was my first time in this facility and I was really disappointed. It is just a college basketball gym. The worse part about the Savannah Civic Center are the people that is in charge of getting the concert goers in the building. Something has to be done about the chaos. Why can UGA move 95,000 fans in less time than Savannah can move 10,000? I will not attend another event at the Civic Center until someone fixes the problem. BTW Elton John and his Band was GREAT!
Elton John was AWESOME ;) Savannah Civic Center SUCKS!!!! No AIR FLOW!!!! and I'm going to STOP there,,,Because I have to finish cooking Dinner! ;) But really something needs to be done in there!! We wont be going back for anything else there until something gets DONE I'm sure :( How sad is that and I have lived here ALL MY LIFE
I loved Sir Elton John. The show was amazing. We arrived at 7pm, crowd was moderate at that time. We were put through security; my purse searched and I walked thru detector. Rather surprised there was just two doors handling the ticket holders entry as I knew it was a sell-out show. Ushers were pleasantly awaiting to help locate seats. This morning I found out that around 8:30pm last night there were hundreds of ticket holders still outside waiting to get in to the 8pm show (that had no opening act.) Elton John was great! But the consession stand and beer stand lines are horrible!!!
