Founded in 1934, The Sarah P. Duke Gardens offers 55 acres (22 hectares) of world-class gardens in the center ofDuke University. More than five miles (eight kilometers) of pathways lead visitors on walks through four sections of beautifully landscaped terraces, gardens, and arboretums. The Duke Gardens host gardening, photography, and natural history classes, and a summer concert series. A cafe and a visitor center are on the grounds. Walking and trolley tours are given four days a week; reservations are recommended.

One of our favorite places to visit when guests come in town - Lovely!
I Take walks there thought the years native Texan I Have seen the change of beauty and dryness of drought but beauty in deep of the root. I enjoy the path trail in My Journey especial this year.
A friend's mother was the first person to have their ashes interred here and it didn't cost him anything. Unfortunately, when my friend - a graduate of Duke Divinity - passed this year the cost was several thousand dollars. He had no family and we couldn't afford to do this for him, so we were sad we could not fulfill his wishes in the manner he preferred.
