First I called to make the appointment my son had Medi-Cal and my job insurance and they still charge me $500. for anesthesia when Medi-Cal covers it. I arrived to the office. I was seen at my scheduled time, but they didn’t even give my son something to calm him down. They just came out and grabbed him and he screamed on the way to the back. Chose not to make an appointment here because of how unprofessional, disorganized, and non-communicative the receptionists were. I had to call upwards of three times to try to get a referral over to them (which was faxed over by my child’s dentist, emailed to them three times, and then texted to them), and each time the employees who answered the phone seemed so clueless. My 5 year old needs some dental work (5 cavities, some of which are in 10 year teeth) and we have been very stressed because we have tried getting x-rays 3 times with no success. Our situation requires anesthesia, unfortunately. I was referred to SJDSC by Western Dental Kids, and just talking to the receptionist, I already feel relief.
