About this business
Since 1971, the San Francisco Tenants Union has been fighting for the rights of tenants and for the preservation of affordable housing in San Francisco. The Tenants Union is volunteer led and membership supported. Membership and counseling donations enables our advocacy to be uncompromising and not influenced by pressures from government or other funders. We are a 501(c)(4) since we campaign for political candidates. We seek to build a base of tenants throughout the city to establish a political power to create change.

Gave me good advice on my problems
An amazing community resource! The counselor we met with was very thorough and answered all of our questions. Definitely worth it to become a member and ensure this is a free resource available to all in the community.
These guys saved my roommates and I from a 3 day eviction that our landlords issued us to scare us out of our flat. Dana assured us that the letter they sent us was only a scare tactic and that their lawyers have no legal power to evict us on their own. Once we were properly served by the court they referred us to the tenderloin housing clinic expeditiously and from there were provided free(we had to pay court fees but some qualify to have these waived) legal counsel for our entire case(we won by the way, case was fraudulent... read more
