When five San Diegans met in 1881 to incorporate the San Diego Gas Company, they formed an enterprise that would serve a city whose population had just passed 3,000. They asked that the city trustees authorize the purchase of 25 street lampposts, the first to be maintained for public use. If I could give them zero stars, I would. SDGE is the worst energy company in the nation, charging the highest energy fees, randomly charging higher prices throughout the year, month, or day (even though San Diego has the most mild weather in tbe country). They leverage their monopoly in the market to charge whatever the hell they want, all while refusing to meaningfully upgrade infrastructure and move to clean energy. Public energy would be a huge improvement, but that is clearing a remarkably low bar given SDGE's shady bus... read more
SDGE shut off our power for a wind event, about 6 hours too early. Wind event after midnight and power off at 5:30pm. Easily could have allowed families to do their nightly routines then shut power off after 9pm. Horrible planning by whoever is in charge.
Not good.
Horrible phone service. Just the same automated garbage these days that makes employees lazy…
