I had a really great time, felt like i really connected to the people there. They made me feel at home!
I was there over a year ago. A lot of workers are nice, but they don't really help you get better unless you keep asking for help. They don't force showers, so it always smells so bad like urine and shit! Most workers have no respect when people are trying to sleep. And you have to have all you're stuff locked cause patients steal alot. You usually have to be on the look out cause patients try to hit you or grab you all of a sudden. My job was giving direct care to pyschiatric patients and supervising mental health workers. I retired in Dec. 31, 2011 with 25 years.
I work here now as far as I'm seeing it's come a long way granted you hear the stories but I believe progress is being made there are a lot of great people who work hard on their units and alot of the patients are very responsive to treatment I'm hoping to one day transition into a part of nursing
Healing and progression can and does happen here, I've witnessed it and it's a wonderful thing to watch.
In the 1960s. It was horrible. Men n. Women. We're there. A 13 yr old girl. From this county. Was there put there by her family. For. All the wrong reasons she was abused by family members n nobody. Did nothing. About it. That was a great. Injustice. To this girl. By her. Family. N this county
