Very Helpful Service Ken with Samy's Camera was very helpful and extremely knowledgeable of the products in pro section. He makes shopping here a pleasure. Thanks for the great service.
Repeatedly Disappointed I live and work in Pasadena, but I have dealt with many pro film shops from Pasadena to Santa Monica and everything in between. Many of the people working at Samy's of Pasadena are severely in need of attitude adjustments. I've finally decided that avoiding these attitudes along with inflated pricing is worth a longer drive.
Really bad customer service Samy's camera on Walnut seems to have fairly good prices, but the customer service is terrible. Both times I have called the people on the phone acted like I was such a huge inconvenience for even calling. I wanted to ask about prices on prints, so I told them this. I was transferred to the camera dept. I sat on hold for at least 5 minutes. Then the guy in the camera dept transferred me back to the original woman. Hit or Miss at Samy's Pasadena Its been hit or miss for me at Samy's Pasadena. Sometimes the staff is great and sometimes they suck "sweetbreads". At least they are equal opportunity discriminators. They discriminate equally against everyone regardless of if you are buying a point and shoot, or a full professional studio full of cameras and equipment.
The good and the bad Great Selections for pros and kids alike. First Class Customer Service This is the second Samy's I have been to. The first was Fairfax to make a purchase and also to attend a free intro class for the Canon T1i I got. The seond was Pasadena to get another lens. First of all, after reading so many diverse reviews on the staff one can get a little skeptical or intimidated by going in. The place to go! If you live in the area this is definitely the place to go for anything camera related. The staff is wonderful and extremely helpful. There is such a large selection of everything. I recommend!!
great staff michelle franco is the best! very helpful and knowledgeable. I successfully exchanged a 52mm filter for a 58mm filter for my new 50mm lens.
Samys Camera An ad in the LA Times prompted me to go to Samy's. They have a good selection and friendly staff, but I would say their regular prices are just ok. They have great sales, though, so if you find something in one of their ads, it's probably cheaper than the competition.
