Sammy ' s Mexican Grill' food is great and very close to original mexican cuisine. The service is one of the best... the people super friendly... they make you feel like family. I had taco dinner very delicious no doubt about it, oh and the music! I love it it it is live and very appropriate for the people, time and place...I definitely will recommend it.

We enjoy going to Sammy's. I agree with another person's review I read about how good their mole is. This time around I had the Enchiladas Mexico City. Perfectly prepared with chorizo crumbled over the sauce. Pefect amount of spicy! The only thing on my wish list is that they would move to a bigger location or try to expand their current Elgin location. It is always busy and tables are close to each other. I've been there plenty of times, and as much as my family and I have enjoyed it, last two experiences have been horrible and we'll never return! Horrible waiter...didn't receive water (had to ask someone else), over 20m for a margarita and burnt food came out about 30m later! DISGUSTING!!
I thought the food was very good. My son and I each had fajitas and my daughter really liked the shrimp � margarita salad. My only complaint was that my $12 margarita didn't live up to my expectations for a $12 margarita. It tasted very watered down for their marquis margarita.
I had an appetizer Ceviche it was good, but they chop the shrimp to small!!! It was almost shredded!!!!
