Had my transmission serviced & they told me my torque converter was failing but would only quote a whole transmission after first telling me there was very little metal in the fluid. Two weeks later I had a mechanic replace the torque converter. He found I was 1 gallon low on transmission fluid with no leaks, and the fluid that was there was black and not new. I had also had a tuneup at the dealer and supposedly got all new spark plugs. But by the time I got the torque converter replaced, the engine was misfiring in neutral.
