Stayed here after getting off a cruise. It is a great location with things to do within walking distance. The room was clean and modern. There are other areas of the hotel that need improvement such as the lounge in the 21st floor and updates to the other common areas. As far as the staff, the front desk worker was great and got us a room to check in earlier so that was appreciated. Our room was very clean. The bed is comfortable. We waited in the executive lounge before our room was ready. It needs to be renovated. I don’t think it lives up to JW Marriott standards. If no renovations are possible, at least shampoo the furniture, wipe down things like the fridge doors, etc. I was worried that our room was going to be dirty and dated but I was very very relieved and pleasantly surprised! This is a perfect stay pre or post cruise. We also had a great city view.
Hotel it’s fine it’s a JW Merriott, don’t have high expectations. The real surprise is how they allow insanely loud parties at their pool deck. Windows closed it feels like you’re in the party, it’s ridiculous. When I went to the lobby to ask them to bring the volume down so their guests could listen to the show their watching the woman said “call the police” fire whoever is in charge of this place. The volume the allow at the pool deck is not legal.
Room was basic but service was beyond 5 stars. From the desk clerk, housekeeping, restaurant... everyone was nice and very attentive. Breakfast buffet was very hot and fresh.
Our flight got delayed by 13 Hours and we arrived to check in having already paid for our 2 Night stay. After 35 hours of travelling we tried to check in only to be told they cancelled our accommodation due to no show policy. They onsold our room to someone else the day we were supposed to check in. While they had availability we had to pay again. One night stay ended up costing us over $1200 as we had no other choice but to pay again for the night. I will never stay in any Marriott hotels again. Would not recommend at all.
