sal's is a lovely place – Sal's used to be my favorite place, when Sal was there. But when I was there a couple of days ago and ate a pizza, it was delicous. I thought the pizza was going to taste a different than sal used to make, but it was not. Looks like everything is the same , may be a lot better. whoever is running the place is doing a good job. Where is SAL? – I used to love Sal's Pizza. It was true athentic NY pie. Now I believe it's under new management. I don't even think there real Italian. The place wasn't the same. Wheres Sal? Come back! We miss you.
old style ,real italian restaurant (with brick oven) – As a expert i can say this pizza and recipe is best what i had in past 10 years. GOOD pizza . good food, excellent friendly staff. the best italian restaurant in the south – I love sals pizza and restaurant .this is the only place where you can get a real pizza .once you try it ,you dont want to call papa johns ever .I strongly recommend to everybody go to sals pizza& restaurant try their delicious calzone , new york style pizza , sicilian thick crust , homemade meatballs and baby calamari. Um let me explain – This was my favorite restaurant when Sal owned it. I found out yesterday when I went in with my wife that Sal had sold the establishment. The food was not as good as it used to be. So, anyway now im back to ordering from Papa Johns, (which is terrible) untill i can find another pizza place as good as this used to be. I recommend Pizza Perfect downtown, for now, buts its so far away. For God's sake, SAL COME BACK!
Best Pizza Anywhere – This is the best pizza place in Nashville. Order the Sicilian, and it's like your in New York City. The Lasagna is superior!!! Their location is bad, the building is small, they don't have all of the flash of a place that you would expect, but if you have taste buds, you will never order greasy Pizza Jaba the Hut, Papa Slobs, or Dumbinos again (Odds are if you know what good pizza is, you don't even go to these places anyways) !!!!
Absolutely Amazing Pizza – Probably the best pizza I've ever had. Just minutes from airport. Very casual setting. True Italian ownership. If you're in Nashville and wanting pizza, it's a must. There is a pizza lunch buffet for $6.99 I believe.

Best Pizza in Tennessee- by far – Sal told me he moved to Nashville from Port Jefferson Station, NY to open up "Sal's" some 25 years ago. He used to make the pizza pies for Pizza Carnival in Pt.Jeff. The pizza at Sal's is the best in all of Tennessee. The ambience at the pizza place is very casual but it's all about the pizza!
