Wax was NOT worth the money! – I visited Salon Blue, Lakeview, for the first time last week. Laini was my "waxer." I had a gift certificate to use and wanted to try a brazilian wax; I also needed an eyebrow wax. I arrived on time and waited in the spa waiting room for a while without any acknowledgment. Good haircut – I had a good haircut when I was here. They were ontime and reasonably priced. I would recommend this place.
Don't go - no really! – My hair has a difficult texture so I asked if they could cut it, which they said yes to. After $48 and a hair cut that looked like a bowl cut from a blind person the woman at the front desk suggested that maybe I could get a refund and that a manager would call me tomorrow morning (it was Wednes). Excellent spa services – I've been to "Spa" Blue several times and been impressed with Denise for both facials and waxing. In her facials, she has a great sense of touch and leaves my skin looking great! With her waxing skills, she honestly is above and beyond- great technique, fast, as painless as one can ask for. The spa environment in Lakeview is great; North Ave. location is good for waxing because you can hear the salon noise (loft-type setup) and it is distracting enough to get you through the pain.
suckered into a microdermabrasion "promo" and paid $75 for not seeing results like i normally would. receptionist was misleading – don't ever go for the microderm "promo." as a 1st time customer, not 1st microderm svc- the process was too fast to actually be effective. the receptionist on the phone wasn't clear that it wasn't full service & thought i was getting a deal for $75. waste of time & $. plus the machine wasn't good. i've had better. too bad i was mislead; i originally called to make an appointment for the full svc.... read more
A Dream come true – I have lived in the city for a year now and have been going to Salon Blu since then. It was extremely hard letting go of my stylist in Detroit but I knew it had to be done. I have never had a bad experience there and I highly recommend it to any first time customer. Great Stylist -Sarah – I have been going to Sarah for 2 years and she is the best in the city. She does take time to "know" her clients, and to be honest I feel that Sarah is very thorough in her client consultation, as well as very informative on new styles, products, and knowlegde of what will work and what will not for your hair type. I have never gotten so many compliments on my hair in my life and I have reccommended at least 10 people to Sarah. All 10 of those people are still regular clients and love Sarah as well. BAD EXPERIENCE WITH SARA – The salon is very welcoming and until I saw the finished product of my hair cut, I was pleasantly surprised by the salon. First of all, I asked "Sara" for a mere trim, clean up the ends and freshen up my hair cut. I left the salon with 45% less hair. Sara tried to lighten the weight of my thick hair and ended up cutting away at all my fullness and leaving me with all these short layers on top of my head. Be Careful!! – I went in for a "gloss" and my stylist put in a hint of red promising my already copper (light brown/blonde/red) would be even more pronounced and shiny. My hair came out a very dark brown/red with absolutely no blond. I see no difference in shine. Be careful with a "gloss", it is no different than a color. My eyebrows are a completely different color from my hair, yet they did nothing! My cut is average; my stylist just haphazardly parted my hair and now I can't figure out how to part it to make my layers eve... read more
