I was referred to Dr. Salama a few years ago. I was in severe neck and back pain. He was very kind and understanding of my condition. He took me on as a new patient and immediately began my treatment plan that day. He and his staff were very kind and caring and still are. N.A.S.

I have waited in waiting rooms for up to 2hrs at times. Also seems to switch people medication often just to extra incentives from pharmaceutical Companies. Even though you try to talk to him about how these new medications are reacting differently he doesn't want to hear it. He just does what's best for his pockets. Just seems very uncomfortable trying to talk to him about my pain that new medication is not reliving my pain. Feels like He just don't want to help. I tried to tell him

This doctor reads and listens to NOTHING! I waited over 1 hour in the exam room for him to immediately tell me he is changing ALL my medication AND we will be doing frequent spine injections even though I mentioned that I have had terrible experiences with them! ANY written medication would be contingent upon me submitting to the very costly injections. Holds you hostage to spending a great deal of time and money on treatment and visits just to obtain your prescriptions. Seek another pain Doc

Met w/ Salama 2x in the past week to go over pain (drugs) and at both visits he managed to call me a liar and insult me while his office staff said I was a drug addict. He doesn't know my past history regarding pain medication which I definitely prefer not to take, he is insists that everything I say is surrounded by me wanting Vicodin. The Hysingla is making me constipated (side affect) and no over the counter or prescription lax is working. He said I lied and it was just to get more Vicodin.

30 minutes just to check in and 75 minutes later, Dr. Salama enters with a hostile attitude. After 2 surgeries I was told that due to DEA rules, I would have to go to pain mgmt 1 week post op. I explained this to Dr. Salama but he seemed to think I was making this up and had me remove both braces so he could visibly see my scars. He accused me of thinking scripts are "candy" which is totally opposite of how I take my meds. I left feeling like a drug addict. Worst doctor I have ever met.

I was a former marathoner and triathlete who developed spinal stenosis and chronic sciatica after two hip resurfacings. I found Dr. Salama and his staff to be caring and professional. I have retired and moved away from the area; however, I have absolute confidence in his ability to manage chronic pain. It became difficult to obtain steroid injections without two visits, however, but that is due entirely to the insurance company's pre-approval process, and not his office policy.

I'm incredibly surprised by the comments saying Dr Salama is rude and uncaring. I found him to be the opposite. He cared greatly about my pain (spinal stenosis) and his staff was very helpful too. I've been to other doctors in the past who showed little compassion or care for their patients and he's not one. He listens, but he also has to type all the notes into his laptop. Just because he isn't holding your hand, and giving you pain meds doesn't mean he doesn't care. In fact, it shows he DOES!
