When you step into this upscale Thai and Vietnamese restaurant, you'll feel the stress melt away immediately. The classy ambiance includes soft music, muted colors and real cloth tablecloths and napkins. The food is excellent, with choices like Chicken Satay and Hot Basil. Beverages include Thai iced tea and Vietnamese coffee, which is so sweet, it could be considered a dessert. Lunch selections include steamed rice dishes like green curry and pad kapow, with your choice of meat, along with a selection of noodle and vegetabl... read more

Worse Pad Thai – I love pad thai, but today I almost lost my taste for the dish I have loved for so long. I was being lasy and decided to go to saigon bangkok in stead of the place i regularly go(Jasmines) and I has the worst pad thai ever. It was dry, bland and the noodles were overcooked. To add insult to injury there were 2 poorly cleaned shrimp and an over abundance of bean sports that tasted like the were not washed. This was the first and last time I will order food from Saigon Bangkok.
Great food for the price – After reading reviews of this restaurants and had it recommended by friends and family, I took my sister who is attending UB for dinner. Saigon Bangkok was one of her favorite place in Buffalo, so our choices was narrowed down. This place was crowded, but we were seated promptly within 10 minutes. The host, Anna, was very nice to give us an opportunity to pick our table since there were 2 opened. The waitress we had knows the food that they serve as she answered most of the questions and offered su... read more
Saigon-Bangkok Restaurant--it's gone downhill – I visited this restaurant when it first opened (based upon Janice Okun's rave review) and found that it was just superb. A few days ago, my fiance and I visited there for lunch--what a huge disappointment! First, most of the tables had white, cotton tablecloths that weren't ironed--tons of wrinkles--there's nothing worse than sitting at a table with a greatly-wrinkled tablecloth. Wallpaper was peeling off of the southward facing wall. As for the food, our green tea was sparse o... read more
saving grace – We just moved here from NYC and after attempting to dine in Buffalo for the past 5 months, I had sworn off eating out in "western ny" for good and had resorted to going to Toronto for good food. But last night my hero of a boyfriend suggested we try this place. This is hands down, THE BEST restaraunt in Buffalo. The food, service and ambiance is superior to any place we have tried so far, and we have been everywhere in the area. It is a simple, romantic restaraunt with subtle tai/vietnamese music, with out a l... read more
Great FOOD and excellent atmosphere – I took my Co-worker from NYC to Saigon Bangkok when they were in Buffalo since they wanted to try something different. My companions rated Saigon Bangkok as one of the best Thai food they even had. Even in NYC, it would be hard press to find a place that has great food that is reasonably prices. I tried the Vietnamese pancake which was stuffed with pork and shrimp, It was very crispy on the outside and serve with light garlic sauce which was nice. My co worker tried the Cube steak and Da... read more
Worst Service – Although I used to patronize this place for the delicious food and the nice atmosphere, I think that both the owner and the employees have no respect for their customers. The worst episode of mine is when my friend found a fly in his pho. My friend found a fly floating on the soup when he finished the noodle. I talked to a waitress, but she took the bowl to the kitchen without saying anything. After quite a while, another waitress came back to us, deducted the charge for the pho from our bill brusquely, and a... read more
Gourmet Food Takes Longer – I've been reading about service, and want to comment. Individually prepared gourmet meals take time to make. It isn't like McDonald's drive through. I find the food exceptional, the service friendly, and a staff who takes time to get to know their clients. The food is authentic and delicious--I've been patronizing Saigon Bangkok for the past 8 years and have never been disappointed or had a bad meal. Often, comments about service are fostered by unrealistic expectations. I advise anyone who likes ... read more
So good that Asian emigres and Viet vets eat here – My favorite restaurant when I visit Buffalo, and of quality unparallelled in major US cities with large Asian populations... at 1/10th the price. Go at lunch to watch the staff in a corner of the dining room chop and prepare for the day's meals with a meticulousness that is rare and pleasing. Also, lunch is the same quality and quantity as dinner at 1/2 of the already-MOST reasonable prices. Last visit had an appetizer special of Thai potstickers that were indescribably del... read more
great place for vietnamese and thai food – My wife and I was looking for a asian restaurant to have our aniversary because she is very fond of Thai and vietnamese food. We made reservation for friday night at Saigon bangkok restaurant. The service and atmosphere of the restaurant was perfect for our celebration. As for the food, we had the tamarind duck which we request for medium rare and it was cook to perfection. My wife had the lovely vietnamese pancake and a fresh summer rolls. Our overall experience was great and would... read more
