Even with a three-tiered dining room, the setting can sometimes be considered more cramped than cozy. But Sai Cafe's popularity is exemplified by the long waits. Don't expect wonders from the hot entrees, the real and obvious draw is the sushi. Sit at the bar, where you can watch the expert chefs carefully prepare the fresh, high-quality fish. The menu offers over 30 a la carte pieces and over 20 hand-crafted maki rolls.

OMG - BAD CHOICE! – I can't believe Chicagoans rate this as on of the best we have to offer for sushi! I've eaten sushi from a grocery store that is better! The edamame was half cooked and the spicy tuna tasted like it had BBQ sauce. The CA Roll was a nightmare - STAY AWAY!
ick! – I didn't enjoy this place much. The sushi, I felt, was below par. The restaurant was large and nice, but the selection and quality of the food put me off. Go to Kamahachi instead. MUCH better. :)
Monster California – Best California rolls I've had Anywhere! They're seriously HUGE! Big chnks of crab and avocado make these worth the trip.
best in city – Great sushi, Fantastic service, friendly staff, great great great. Can't eat there enough.
Fresh, but no flair – The sushi here is very fresh and of good quality, but the rolls were rather boring. I tend to enjoy maki with added in flavors such as the spicy mayo or eel sauce. Not overpriced, but I'd rather spend my money on something more exciting.
sushi at its best – the sai cafe is a place for real sushi lovers and is worth every penny.
Great Sushi – Try this not so trendy sushi spot in Lincon Park. Great food and great people make up for average and not so trendy surrundings. A must try!
Not sure what the hype is about – Sai Cafe, Sai Cafe. That is all I hear. But after going, I think none of those people even know what good sushi is supposed to taste like. Not Fresh, dark and gloomy atmosphere, service so-so. But when I got the bill I couldn't believe I had wasted an evening eating not so great sushi at a higher price. Terrible. Will never go back.
Excellent – This is one of the few Sushi places in Chicago that has great food, great service, great ambience and great romantic appeal. More so, when we got the bill, it all seemed more than worth it.
