I have been a customer my whole life, mainly because my dad worked there for 43 years. i libe going in, talking to the checkers and the bagger at check out. Today not one check out was open, I was forced to use self checkout. i detest self checkout with a basket of groceries! i had to wait after each item was put in the bag, unidentified object in bagng area over and over again. i asked where the checkers were and they didn't know. I left frustrated and angry. at least have one checkstand open.

This store is the venue of choice for the users of the local methadone clinic. They all come here after getting their morning fix to hang out at the in store Starbucks or to lie on the pavement outside. If you like to combine your shopping experience, with the adrenaline rush of standing in line with someone who is as high as a kite, then this is the grocery store for you.

Dude in the deli made me a breakfast sandwich. Couldn't figure out how to cut bacon in half or put the sauce on the inside. I didn't realize sandwiches were that difficult to make. Slapped together and mediocre.

While I don’t like dogs in grocery stores I get that it is too hot to leave them in the car. But when you’re a checker and there is a dog in the next line, please don’t try to pet the dog before handling my food. Luckily the dog was shy and didn’t want to be pet. I asked the checker not to pet the dog before touching my food and he got snippy with me. Won’t be back. Needed to go to another market to find everything on my list anyway.

Left Safeway yesterday & John my excellent cashier says as he's ringing my groceries "this is the healthiest order I've rang in a while, no wonder you look so good" when he got done ringing and engaging he said & "you're the sweetest person I've met in sometime" and thanked me for making his day. So let me pass it back by saying thank you Safeway for hiring warm and wonderful people like John.
