A little about Rustic Cafe Built in 1947 as the Rustic Inn, it was a large restaurant, bar and dance hall ( the picture to the right is of the original liquor license ). It was known to have the likes of Frank Sinatra and Will Rogers stop by for evenings out. After a devestating fire in the early '60's, it was rebuilt in 1969 to its present, cozy size and renamed Rustic Cafe. The greatest place to go! Once you've been there one time you WILL go back again! Once you're there...you're family! We have been to the Rustic Cafe in east Lyme ct Twice, I can't say enough about it. The food was fantastic the drinks were great and the service was 2nd to none. It is a great Little place , people are friendly, everyone makes you feel at home..
I haven't been to CT in years but I remember when Vickie and Fran owned and ran the rustic tavern.
Everything is delishious, between the calamari, clam chowder, and lobster roll! Great portions for the price and my favorite part is how everything is homemade and fresh! I admire a great chef that takes quality seriously! Thank you for the great food and service!
