Love Rudys, I'm from Oregon but spent a good time in New Mexico and PHX and will always come to Rudys right after the plane ride! The moist brisket is the best! We need a Rudys in Portland, Or!
Very friendly and helpful staff! Good Bar-B-Q especially for being the self proclaimed "worst barbecue" joint around. Lols!!!
The bar b q tacos are seasoned just right. The ice tea is excellent. Brisket is nice and juicy. The line moves quickly. The staff is efficient and friendly. Relaxed atmosphere. You will feel "at home" in shorts or Sunday best.
Rudy's is one of my favorite restaurants. I love the way K&N Management runs things. They have ideals that they strive for that they post publicly in their restaurants - such as cleanliness, hospitality, speed of service, quality - and they nail them all. The employees are great and the food is consistently delicious.
There is lots of BBQ in Austin, but Rudy's is consistently one of the best. Unlike the excellent food trailers, you don't have a long line and get nice cold AC here. My favorite is the lean brisket, outside. Which means it has some of the bark and more of the smoke. The friendliness of the staff really sets them apart from other boring BBQ joints. Keep it up!
