My worst haircut in over a decade I asked for a trim - just an 1/8 inch off. I got a new style, much shorter and not one I like. Nothing was said by the stylist that she wasn't capable of doing my regular cut. Thank havens they aren't surgeons. With time, it will grow back out so I can go somewhere else and I can wear a stocking cap in the mean time.

What more can I say! She was new to this joint and I had better luck before with other haircutters. She told me she used to work at a place on Roosevelt called Derby for couple of years. The end result was nothing short of a butcher's job. It's only hair but this is something I had a lot to write about. It was the worst hair cut ever!!! The place is still cool! Just be careful for Chelsey W. "The Butcher"!!

Best Haircut ever! – I used to go to a fancy salon downtown (I won't mention the name), but due to a little less cash these days, I thought I would try out Rudy's. The girl that cut my hair did an amazing job, exactly what I wanted for about 1/3 of the price I used to pay...I am in Heaven!

Thank God! – I have been bouncing from hair joint to hair joint trying to find a good, cheap place to get a haircut...finally I have found my place! I have had 4 haircuts there all by different people and everyone was great! I highly recommend Rudy's and it sure was nice to pop over to Kings for a beer after my cut-

Stay Away – The one serving me had lots of tattoos (as did every barber), big black earings (the ones that leave gaping holes), and her face kept twitching as she cut my hair which showed me she was nervous and had no experience. She asked me what I wanted, I told her exactly how I wanted my hair cut. She did not follow directions. My hair was uneven, she didn't lower my ears like I asked, the back was uneven from feeling it, didn't line up my beard properly, and she didn't put a mirror in the back of my head probably for go... read more

Avoid Nicole B! – If you're looking for a trim or style, go to Heidi or Naph, Nicole is simply a horrible stylist who should stick to buzz cuts until she gets more training. Beware, she may take off more than you ask, not offer to shampoo your hair or even dry it...perhaps to hide her flaws. NEVER AGAIN!

Great New Stylist -- Angela Chan Angela Chan is sorely missed by her Sacramento clients. She comes up with new and clever styles for even her most conservative clients. She keeps you out of the hair rut and keeps you away from dated looking style. I wish Portland was closer.

Stylists Stay A While That review about the Rudy's manager is vile, ridiculous, and tacky. If what they claim is the truth then why is there such a LOW stylist overturn? The majority of stylists working at Rudy's have been there since both Portland shops opened. She must be doing something right! Sounds like the nasty review was nothing but a personal slander.....childish and cowardly to post something so demeaning on this site.

Long Lines, Good Peeps – I've come to this hotspot multiple times for a trim and always walked away satisfied. The lines can be horrendously long, and there is an a feeling of too-coolness from some of the stylists, but they have always been nice, and good conversationalists. They seem to know as much about what's happening locally as they do about hair.
