This unassuming sushi place is probably one of the best in the neighborhood. The inexpensive, expertly prepared sushi is what draws the crowds. Americanized recipes with interesting local twists, a meal here will never be boring. No alcohol is served here, only serious sushi. Do drop in and try some Lomi Lomi Salmon Maki, the traditional sushi with a Hawaiian flourish or unakyu, the fresh water eel, if you're feeling adventurous!

various sushies. too many to name – I thought that the food was above average, the decor fascinating and fun, and the music great but loud. The only reason (and it's a good reason) that we decided to put the rating below average was the service. It's a first come, first serve. We get that. What we detested was the extremely slow service from the wait staff. It took 30 minutes to get the wrong food. It took another 30 minutes to get the right food. We had to constantly remind the wait staff to get more drinks and the rice. Th... read more
Horrible Experience! – First of all they don't take reservations, we waited for about 45 minutes and then the only table they had to offer was out on the balcony in pouring raining. It has a canopy over it, but when that wind is blowing you're getting wet. Second, the waitress brought my chicken w/rice out 30 minutes after everybody else's meal in the party, and she just brings me the chicken, but no rice. She tells me she forgot the rice and she will go get it. i waited another 20 minutes and couldn't wait anymore, so i wen... read more
Biggie-sized culinary exotica, beginner sushi and extra ponzu. – In Short A blisteringly white room, rounded out by bar stools and your own live version of a wa-saaa-bi commercial, RuSan's noisy, bright and brash appeal winds up being a guilty pleasure. Blacklisted by the serious sushi set, it craks out entry-level, heavily Americanized sushi. The menu reads like a racing form: Mad Max's Special, Flying Kamikaze, Lady Killer. Plenty are fully cooked (grilled or fried) in case you've got some beginners in the crowd.
torn – The sushi is good and there is lots of variety for both sushi-eaters and those who prefer other things such as teriaki or tempura. However, at least at the Piedmont location the service is consistently bad. EVERY TIME I go to RuSan's in Buckhead the service stinks. But the food is soo good. Its a tough decision.
Sushi and more... – This has become a favorite of my family for a special treat. Those of us that enjoy sushi have a wide variety of reasonbly priced and high quality nigiri and maki choices, although we don't usually go in for the unusual, copyrighted concoctions. Tuna, Salmon, Unagi and all the basics are as good as I have had anywhere. My wife loves the Shrimp Tempura by-the-piece, and my kids balance their limited sushi orders of tuna and salmon with bits of tempura and yakitori (my son even tried the squid-yakitori..and... read more
Ru-San's is great! – Ru-San's is a great restaurant...the food is always fresh and beautifully arranged. Lots of tempura dishes make it different from other sushi restaurants and the sauces are delicious. The service does leave a little to be desired, but the food definitely makes up for it.
Sushi without Service. – To be fair to the quality of the actual sushi itself, most of it is prepared well and tastes are certainly unique compared to other sushi places. Overall, we enjoy the food and the creativity. What we do not enjoy is the service--we don't even mind the annoying long waits, but it's the service. Our server made us get up and move out of her area because we had already started a tab in the bar area with another server. Our new server was quite apologetic, but the experience ruined what could've been a ... read more
Can't beat the price – Ive tried a number of cheap sushi places and Rusans is the best of the bunch. You pretty much get what you pay for here, plus a little bit more. Best bets include eel and tuna sashimi, as well as spicy yakisoba noodles. The atmosphere is really low-key and accessible; my 2-year-old son had a fantastic time here. The menu is way too huge, but full of options for the sushi novice.
