Royal Pastry Shop was established in 1941 in East Cambridge, Massachusetts by Vincenzo and Ninetta Coppola. Vincenzo was born in Hamrun, Malta, but was of Sicilian descent. He emigrated to the United States in 1925 and worked in his uncle's pastry shop in Boston's North End until he opened Royal Pastry. Ninetta ( Urso ) Coppola was born in Floridia, Sicily and emigrated to Hartford, CT in 1920.
