Great food, relaxing atmosphere, family friendly activities and amazing staff.
Located in a beautiful, middle of nowhere setting, rough creek lodge is good fun for the family. It has a good number of activities for the kids a good 4-star accommodation. At $800 a night (or so), it is incredibly overpriced for what it offers. It claims to be "all inclusive" but it is not. Breakfast is decent, lunch are overcooked burgers and hot dogs (sodas are extra) and dinner at the main restaurant, that claims to be award-winning, zagat-rated, is average at best. Rough creek is our secret peace of heaven. Our family has been going there for seven years now. The staff at rough creek is outstanding and it's great to see the same people year after year. It's our home away from home. Love it.
