We miss you! – it was a great place and I still miss it!
it closed.what a freakin' surprise – this was without a doubt the most disgusting meal i have had i ordered fish and chips......i should have remembered to tell them i wanted all white meat because what i got was four foul-looking pieces of drumstick and thigh...........i said something about it and got a quizzical look from the pony-tailed idiot waiter and the smoke in the dining area was just delightful
We will miss you Rose & Raindrop!!!! – Thanks for the good food, good drinks and fond memories. We hope that Rose & Raindrop will open up some place else in the future!
Great Service, good value. Hurry, it's closing soon – We have been regulars at this restaurant for a couple of years and our hearts are broken that it will be shutting it's doors forever by the end of the year. There is still time to enjoy a good drink and great happy hour menu before they close. If you're lucky, you'll be served by Russ.
In all fairness – Quick points in regards to previos reviews. The French Onion Soup is made in house not out of a can, and we sell alot of it with many compliments. The cheese is swiss which we grate daily. I have no idea how it could be mistaken for mozzarella which I have none of in house. Gruyere would be more traditional and I should change that, thank you. The cheese should be melted and it isn't, I need to run a 220 electric line for the salamander. If the soup was cold that is a server issue which I will look into. Ou... read more
Used to Be Great, but Has Gone Way Downhill – The Rose & Raindrop, aka the R&R, used to be co-owned by a gentleman named Hal, who had excellent taste and knew how to run a restaurant and treat his employees well. He passed away this last year, and the other co-owner, Don Younger, who owns the Horse Brass, decided to sell it off since he didn't want to run two pubs. The new owners have shown no understand of what made the R&R great. The Happy Hour is terrible now, $4.50 Imperial (20 oz.) pints to get $3/$5 appetizers which ar... read more
Horrible Awful Painful Waste of Space/Time and Everything – The food was hideous enough to justify the immediate exportation of the cook to any remote desert island that will take em. Was that really pre-grated kraft mozzarella on that lukewarm and from the can french onion soup?? It's insane to cheat on french onion. . .it's too easy to make right to butcher like they did. And my girlfriend and I were convinced that the oysters in the shooters were old, and possibly cooked. Luckily they were out of the main dishes we ordere... read more
Good beer list, bad food. – The beer list here is great- if they have what you're looking to drink. We were informed they were out of about half of the beers listed, and the first two of my wine picks were also out. We ordered the brie plate, which was good, but came without the fruit because yeah, they were also out of fruit. My steak was way overdone and extremely tough. It also had a ribbon of gristle running through through it and it just didn't taste good. Kinda bland and chewy. My companion's chicken parmesan also was ... read more
Grand yet cozy, this local haunt accommodates couples and co-workers alike with tasty food, affordable drinks and great atmosphere. – The Scene Located in the historic, castle-like (and allegedly haunted) Barbur Blocks Building, this quirky place emanates both a grand and homey vibe. Gorgeous wood details, dark tones, comfortable wraparound booths, tables for two and an airy mezzanine present elegance in the nonsmoking dining area. The bar, lined with a plethora of beer taps and regular customers, encourages relaxation and c... read more
