Ron's Hobbies is a family owned and operated hobby shop that has served Lake County Illinois for over thirty eight years. Our goal is to not only provide customers with good quality products, but honest prices and excellent customer service. We have a large finished HO Scale layout in the store that operates daily upon request! We stock an impressive selection of HO Trains, as well as O scale trains, N scale trains, Slot Cars, Remote Control Trucks,Helicopters, and Planes, Plastic Models, Rockets, and much more!

A nice little shop. Good selection of train stuff. Stocks detail parts, scratchbuilding supplies. I wish it was close to home, I'd be there often.
Huge variety of items and they can get whatever you need. Very helpful staff from consultation to repairs on RC cars. Same owners since I was a kid 30 years ago. Love this place!

Such a wonderful place to get your stuff. They have a nice program for frequent customers and the pricing is unbeatable! The staff is also very friendly! I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for a hobby!
I have been shopping at Ron's since they opened, always have a great selection and if they don't have what you want they will order it for you. Ron and his staff are always friendly and helpful. My Train club just purchased the roadbed and track for a new portable layout, had everything in less then a week of placing the order and at a great price. Always a pleasure to do business with Ron's.
I always come to rons hobbies almost every weekend. This is my favorite and the best hobby store. I am great friends with the owner and there employees. My father has come to this hobby store all the time when he was a kid. 5 stars all the way.
